Big lagg while playing Rage?

I just downloaded Rage (the game) for my PC, and I've played the first mission now with huge lagg, the whole time. I lowered the resolution to 800x600 but still had a lot of lagg.

I play Dragon Age 2, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, Black Ops, Bad Company 2, etc... on my PC and I sometimes need to lower a bit my settings but I never got lagg. Help appreciated.Big lagg while playing Rage?
I know with the latest update for the game it adds some more graphical options, and allows you to change between large and small textures aswell as vsync and antistropic filtering. Be sure to download the update and turn on small textures with no vsync and no filtering... If this still doesnt work you may want to consider either upgrading your pc or buying the game on console if you have one! Apart from that theres not much you can do, hopefully in the future id software release more updates to optimise RAGE For better performance!

update the drivers, esecially ATI. Nvidia just released a new one a few hours ago.
