Computer help needed please?

i play alot on the computer wether it bee searching the web, playing games, and watching videos. i would consider my computer pretty fast, short download times, goes to websites quickly, starts up and shuts down relativly fast, but when it comes to games, such as world of warcraft, aion, dragon age origins....i lag, not the entire time but i have lag spikes for 30 sec, then it clears up for a min and does it all over.



anyways i wanted to know 2 things



What causes this lag?

and what can i do to fix this wether it means buying things or not.



also can you please describe what the item does and how it would improve my game performance?

Most of those games sound like online games, so lag is probably due to your internet connection. The only fix for that is to get a better internet service provider. Because games communicate over real time, they need the connection to be consistent, where as when you are downloading a file, or watching a video, it can be downloaded in chunks, and so does not seem as slow.Computer help needed please?
5 bars just means you can connect to your internal wireless router - It does not mean that your internet connection is consistent. You could have 5 bars and no internet. It is what happens from your router to your ISP that counts.

Buy a gaming pc or an xbox they are cheaper haha, could be an antivirus program or probs sum junk running in the background, like that free software crap you get with printers, Buy a mac if you have the money u wont regret it
You should probably get a graphics card. Basically, the way they work is that they process the graphics so that your computer can focus on other things. They really improve the speed of games because the graphics take alot of processing power.
