Do you always need the cd to play a game?

I bought dragon age 2 and dead space and was wondering do i just need to download it or will i always need the cd? thanks!!Do you always need the cd to play a game?
Even if you save the games to your HDD you will always need the disk to play it unless you hacked your xbox, Microsoft did this to protect against piracy and unpaid ownership.Do you always need the cd to play a game?
It depends on HOW you purchased the game...

If you purchased the game online through Steam, it'll download %26amp; install the game onto your computer for you to play at time you like, no disc required.

If you purchased the game through retail methods (Gamestop, WalMart, ect.), you'll need the disc to play the game each time. HOWEVER, you can remove the disc requirement by buying (%26amp; installing) Game Jackal ( http://www.slysoft.com/en/gamejackal.htm鈥?/a> ). Game Jackal will virtualize the game disc just enough for the game to run properly so you can play the game without having the disc inside your system.

HOWEVER, Game Jackal does add to the game's HDD space requirements as it has to store it's disc images on your computer. I will note that Game Jackal does include some internal DRM so the disc images you generate for the games will only work on that computer through Game Jackal (just to keep the game industry from freaking out).

Hope this clears things up!Do you always need the cd to play a game?
When you put the CD in, it downloads. You can save it, and it will be there without having to put it in every time. There is something called "Steam" and it stores all PC games, and even lets you buy games directly online. Hope it helped!!
