Mass Effect 1%26amp;2 and Fable 2%26amp;3 are all excellent choices. But, of course start with Mass Effect 1 and Fable 2 first to see if you like the games. Mass Effect is a "companion" type game, where you get a group of computer-controlled followers to help you. In the Fable games it's pretty much just you and your dog, with the exception of a few missions. All in all, I think I prefer the Fable games to the Mass Effect games, but they are all games that any RPG fan should play. Borderlands is also a lot of fun, and one of my favorite games.

Now, I may be the only RPGer who didn't like Dragon Age Origins. I thought that it was a little tedious and I got very bored with it and all of the cut scenes. The combat also felt very clunky to me. Still, if you are a fan of the genre you may enjoy it.

Borderlands is awesome, though it feels more like an FPS than an RPG. It's fine single player, but if you have friends who play it makes it a little less lonely. I'm generally a single-player type of person, but I liked having company for Borderlands.

All of the games you listed have a multitude of side quests, and most them them have an "open world" feel to varying levels. Though, nothing quite compares to the open feel of Fallout and Oblivion.
Okay, Mass Effect 1 and 2 are great for singleplayer, long and lots of replay, it is free roam, but mainly story based, fable definatly for games like fallout and oblivion, but get the second one first to see if you like it. Dragon age is alot like Diablo with a mix of WoW but mainly singleplayer with a decent sidequest system. Borderlands is like a Shooter with loot, not much of an rpg.Video game rpg games questions?
If you cant get the platinum hits then you would have to get on xbox live marketplace to get the addons. And yes all of those games have side quests. And splitscreen is playing with another player on the same screen. so you can run around with 2 people playing. And i think all the mass effects are really good. Fable is only okay, And dragon age and borderlands are fun too.
If you enjoy computer games you should try runescape. Its a little boaring at first but once you learn the game it becomes increadibly fun :). There are many things to do in it. I consiter it a mmorpg. And the best part is its free. So if you do decide to start to play it good luck and have a good time gameing i know i have :).Video game rpg games questions?
